The Cavite Provincial Police Office (PNP) has mobilized an adequate contingent of policemen in advance of Undas 2024 in order to protect locals and visitors to Cavite’s cemeteries.
In order to maintain safety and offer help on the ground, 591 police officers, 693 additional force multipliers, 131 police help desks (PADs), and 194 enhanced units have been deployed as part of the heightened alert status.
To deter criminal activities, the Cavite PNP will conduct routine checkpoints, implement “Oplan Sita” operations, and intensify anti-criminality measures throughout the province. These efforts will include enhanced traffic and crowd control to facilitate the smooth movement of commuters and vehicles around key cemetery areas. Mobile patrols will be especially active in areas with higher crime rates, ensuring a continuous presence to prevent potential offenses. This effort will improve police visibility, reduce criminal opportunities, and contribute to a peaceful observance of the holiday.
Acting Provincial Director PCOL Dwight E. Alegre emphasized the importance of leadership during this period by instructing all police chiefs and unit commanders to leave their offices and personally oversee their teams on the ground. He also encouraged them to collaborate closely with local government units to prepare for possible emergencies that may arise during the Undas observances.
Director Alegre urged community members to report any suspicious incidents promptly, highlighting the role of public vigilance in enhancing security efforts. He expressed hope for a safe and meaningful observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days, encouraging the public to engage in the occasion peacefully and respectfully. Through these combined efforts, the Cavite PNP aims to provide a secure environment for residents and visitors, ensuring a solemn and disturbance-free holiday.
